An Imaginary Stroll


·         Close your eyes and relax your body with a few deep breaths. Release and stored tension from stressed muscles by slowly tensing and releasing them.

·         In your mind’s eye, imagine that you are taking a five minute slow circular walk around a beautiful and peaceful place such as a garden, a mountain, river or seaside. You could choose an indoor location if you prefer such as a house, church or museum, that also has calming memories for you. As you walk, take care to notice as much details as you can and appreciate the colours and forms and scents that are appealing to you.

·         Before opening your eyes, choose a place to sit down for a minute and focus your attention on one favorite thing while focusing on your breath as you gently inhale and exhale.
