If you want to cut down your drinking

      1.            Keep a drink diary and tot up your number of alcohol units consumed is a week on or day to day basis. Try to identify in your diary the time and situations where you are most likely to drink, and then avoid them.

      2.            Reduce your weekly amount by cutting out drinking at certain times, for example lunch time and go to the gym, have a decent meal or go for a walk instead.

      3.            When you drink, drink one unit an hour and have a glass of water for every alcohol unit you drink.

      4.            Drink sqritzers or low-alcohol drinks to increase the volume and help slow down consumption.

      5.            Draw up a plan to get out of drinking, especially drinking in ‘rounds’ when these situations arise.

Remember all the benefits to cutting down on booze. It will be easier to lose weight as alcohol is so high in calories and your mental agility, general well-being and good health will soon improve. You will feel more motivated to adopt a healthy life style generally.
